Workouts From Last Week

(recent instagram pic of Violet, Zander & I)

Does anyone want 5 pounds of Easter chocolates?! That's about how much my children got over the weekend. Think I will hide it in the freezer to get it away from me.

My husband has been working out of state off and on for the past month. It's been so challenging to get my workouts in when he's away. I don't leave my children with babysitters. But I'll happily let my mom or sisters watch the kids whenever they are available so I can run for at least 30 minutes.

I feel like I'm not doing my best right now. It's been a month since I've seen the scale go down. I know it's because I haven't been tracking all my food or burning enough calories. And maybe all that chocolate I mentioned above! Ok, enough about that.

MON-30 min run
FRI- 32 min run and 10 min walk

hmm, think I need to reevaluate my goals.

Workouts From Last Week

Last week was so much fun! We have been enjoying sunny days here in Texas. We visited the park and the Zoo. So glad my husband could be a part of our zoo day!

WED- at least 1.5 of fast paced walking at the zoo. Then I ran 2 miles in 28 min.

FRI- walked & played tag at the park for about 25 min.

SAT- ran 2 miles in 24 min. and walked for 30 min.

I've been at the same weight for a few weeks now. Have a feeling I will see a new number tomorrow morning!

Workouts From Last Week

Last weekend I ran a 5k! Here's a pic of me before the run.
I went with my Mom. She's in the middle. Her and her friends usually sport tutus for their 5k's. This time however, my mom wasn't in the mood. I think I need to put that on my to-do list...run in a tutu! Karin looks pretty cute in it.
After the 5k there was a parade. Best Maid Pickles are made in my hometown. This was their first year to host a parade. It was on St. Paddy's day. My little ones enjoyed it!
What I did last week:

TUES- 20 minutes of walking & carrying my baby boy...my mind is blank. I don't remember where I went that day.

WED- 23 min run & 8 min walk. 80 sit-ups.

FRI- 3 miles in 38 min at the park.

SAT- 5k in 37 min. at least 15 min of walking around with the stroller at the parade.

It was a good week! Still weigh the same as the week before. Gotta keep on chugging along!

Workouts From Last Week & Avocado Pasta

Have you seen this recipe yet by Oh She Glows? I've made it twice now. My sister Jordan found it before me. We both love it. I like to eat it for lunch with toast. I think it has about 345 calories a serving. You should try it sometime!

Last week my husband was out of town for work. That made it very hard to get workouts in. Sometimes my family will watch the kids so I can run & that helps.

WED- 15 min yoga dvd & 2 'song workouts' that I found on Pinterest

FRI- 2 miles in 23 min at the track. It was so cold. I wore 2 layers of pants & shirts!

Wow, I didn't do much! But it was cold & rainy saturday. Then saturday night my baby was up most the night with a fever. Sunday was spent taking care of him since he was still sick. Will try harder this week!

Jogger

Last night I got a surprise while cooking dinner. My hubby came home and asked me to go grab another grocery bag out in the garage. I opened the door and found a jogger stroller! I have been wanting one for a while now. I know were a little late in getting it since our daughter is 2 and a half. But the weight limit is 50 and she's 28. She loves it!

The two of us took it out today and went to the playground. Violet has been sick with allergies and a cold. So, she was very happy to get outside.

30 Day Shred

I got this workout dvd last week. I really like Jillian's all or nothin' attitude. I also have her Making the Cut book. But I haven't gotten to do the program yet. It consist of using a lot of weight circuits that my apt. gym doesn't have. But your supposed to be able to lose those last 10-15 pounds if you follow it over a month! The book will have to wait until I can spend at least an hour in the gym. Which is hard to do with a one year old! So, I got her dvd. It's more practical for me right now. It has 3-20 minute workouts that burn fat and tone. There are 3 levels. I have done Level One, one time so far. I'm gonna add this into my routine for those days that I get too busy to get on the treadmill. I want these pounds gone!

Things I Love about Fall

  1. Perfect outside weather for running or taking V to the park.

  2. Time to make soups and stews!

  3. Pumpkin Patches and Halloween Costumes.

  4. Taking Violet trick or treating.

  5. Getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Daddy Matt and I took V to get a pumpkin last weekend. She had a blast! One of her favorite words is BALL. So, she just pointed and said BALL over and over! Speaking of pumpkins, pioneerwoman recently posted how to roast and puree one. I can't wait to do that for my new favorite cupcakes! When I think of the word cupcakes I automatically think of the word RUN! So, there are like four 5ks being sponsored in Fort Worth this month. I'm not sure if I could run the entire thing but I will run most of it. Who's ready to run?!

How the Tummy Changes

These pictures chronicle the extremes my tummy has gone through since October 2006. It's amazing how big and round you can get while pregnant! I couldn't wait to look pregnant, I was one of the "lucky" ones and looked pregnant at 12 weeks.

So, here we go on the journey!

Halloween 2006- I got pregnant soon after this...
Here I am, with the "cute" pregnant look.

Here I am lookin' BIG!

July 07- About to POP! (Ignore my bra, focus on tummy!)

Feb. 08-After baby...This pic kinda embarrasses me but I had to show it or it would look like I NEVER had a weight problem. This was the pic I took so I could start checking my progress. I started working out in March 08. I couldn't use the baby as an excuse for the weight anymore!

August 08- I'm almost to where I wanna be! So exciting! I may not ever look exactly like I used to but I think I'm doing pretty well! I look forward to having another healthy baby again someday and would gain the weight in a heartbeat! But for now I'm focusing on my fitness goals!

Healthy Recipe

I love cooking! I also love eating! But I also want to be more aware of what I put in my body and have a flat tummy. Which I already have...Not really! So, I've been trying new and healthy recipes. These are Greek Stuffed Peppers that came from Ellie Krieger from Food Network. We really like her, I want to be as fit as her when I grow up! Maybe if I eat her food, I will also look like an ex-Wilhelmina model myself! I think I'll start blogging about all the new recipes I try. But my mom gets the credit for this one and it turned out great! And only 210 calories a serving!

Greek-Style Stuffed Peppers

Woke Up Early

Yep, I did. Violet and I usually sleep in till 10am. But this sunday morning I woke up early at 7 and couldn't sleep but I wasn't tired anymore anyway. So, I decided that I needed to go workout. I usually go in the afternoon after Matt gets home from work. It feels really nice to get up early every once in a while! The sun was up and shining and I ran on the treadmill and did light weights. And Lucky for me Violet was still asleep when I got home so I could take a shower! This is gonna be a good day! My 2 favorite shows come on tonight, Next Design Star and Next Food Network Star! Woo-Hoo!
