Road Trip for my cousin's wedding

Photo of my sweet family outside of the church. It was a beautiful day!
Bath time at the hotel.
Pool time with Aunt Jaley. Yes, Z is sportin' a dipey in the pool. He wasn't in there long and we were the only ones there.
Our favorite tortilla chips~Julio's are made in San Angelo. They make awesome salsa too. We had lunch at their restaurant. I had the taco plate. All the food looked so good it was hard to choose!
My mom made around a thousand tiny desserts. Sweets galore!
My cousin E is now grown up & married! I remember babysitting him. His bride looked so beautiful. Glad we were able to make the trip!

Love is sweet

The candy buffet had to be one of the cutest things at our wedding. We loaded up a bin filled with chinese takeout boxes with our monogram on it for guest to take home their favorite candies. Here's my old post about making all those boxes.

My mom put together the banner with ribbons, strings and scrapbook paper. The letters were silver and glittery. I tried to darken the last picture so you could read it better. It says LOVE IS SWEET. Our photographers said it was the biggest candy buffet they had ever seen. Funny! My mom has been buying chocolate like crazy since Valentine's day. There was at least 75 pounds of candy.

All the candy was labeled. Some of them had special titles like "matt's favorite" or "jill's favorite" and so on. One of my mom's friend found the wax soda pop bottles and said he hadn't seen them since he was a kid. It was nice to see people of all ages turning into kids around the candy table.

The picture frame says LOVE IS SWEET, TAKE A TREAT.

Some of the candies we shared were lindt white chocolate, jelly bellys, cotton candy, violet crumbles, hershey kisses, rock candy and much more!

This is a great candy buffet site if your looking for more ideas. Look for more candy buffet pictures from me in the next couple of months. I saw my photographers taking pictures of our wedding rings next to the purple m&m's. All of these pictures were taken by thoughtful family members.

Feel free to click on the pics to enlarge them and check out all the candy!

Some wedding details

Here's a close up of our aisle decorations. My mom hung mason jars from Shepard hooks then bundled up flowers inside. The Shepard's hooks were purchased at JoAnn's for around 2 bucks a piece. We ordered our flowers in bulk for this and a few other projects. My mom has her flower shop listed on her blog if your interested.
I had 2 cute young girls from each side of my family pass out water bottles to our guest as they were being seated. The temperature was 100+ degrees for our wedding. The girls also passed out the programs which were printed onto fans. I don't have a picture of those yet. My mom printed up labels and stuck them onto scrapbook paper to dress up the water bottles. So simple!

Here's another pic of the cute white chairs that Rose Chapel provided.

I'm a Mrs.!

The wedding went pretty much just like we planned. (except for jaley's zipper ripping on her bridesmaid dress 2 hours before showtime). I really can't say I have any regrets about my wedding.
Of course it had it's quirks like, Violet tugging on my dress during the ceremony, the pastor's leg was giving out on him during the ceremony, the maybe "wedding crasher" girl that performed a glow stick routine at the reception. Oh my! That cracked me up. Our photographers asked if we had hired her and Matt and I had no clue who she was.
We had so many family and friends come to our special day. There were so many that I thought could not make it that came. It was a blast! My cousin counted 176 guest. You know what?! My mom and I never counted children in our final head count of rsvps. Lol, Were crazy! There was plenty of food though. We took home pans of cheesecake and cupcakes. I think people got full off the candy buffet and chocolate fountain way before the cake cutting started.
Overall it was simply beautiful! The guest had a great time with the candy bar and photo booth. Our DJ from DJ Connection was awesome! He got out on the dance floor and showed us how to do a few dances.
My cake tower turned out lovely. It was a huge display of mini plain & white chocolate cheesecakes and red velvet cupcakes with flowers tucked in between it all. Somehow my mom pulled it together. I was worried about how that would turn out since we never practiced how we would place all the desserts and flowers together.
My mom made all the centerpieces and bridesmaid bouquets. (she made a lot of other things that I will share later) She did great! Then I had a friend from highschool (FlowerFlour) make my bouquet, tosser and the mother's wrist corsages. I really loved my bouquet.
I can't wait to see the pictures from our photographers, Joel & Laura! They are the cutest couple and great at what they do. They will be mailing me the photo booth disc soon and I get to see what "sneaky" things my guest did in the booth! Were any of yall naughty? LOL! I won't get my wedding disc for at least 2 months. But a lot of friends and family took some excellent pictures as well.
So, what else can I say? I'm just Happy. I'm Mrs. Kuhlmann. Matt and I have gone through a lot of change in the past 3 1/2 years and it was all for the better. I'm so happy with this life God has blessed me with. I've got my baby's last name now and Matt and I look forward to the future.
Thanks Mom and Dad for a beautiful night! I love you both.

Bridal Makeup Ideas

My favorite look is a toss up between Kate Hudson at the top and Christina at the bottom. I was on a mission to find a close up of Kate from Bride Wars. I love her cat-eye smokey eyes with a nude lip. I'm going to do a trial run tomorrow since my Bridal Portraits are on Sunday! I already have all the colors just gotta get some lashes.

Mason Jars Make Me Happy

We got inspired by the above picture over at Hostess with the Mostess. I just love that blog.

Then we made our own! Each guest will have one to use at the wedding and take home. The adorable daisy cut lids were bought from here.

Wedding Gifts via Mail

We got mail! Fun stuff. They came from relatives in Houston. My Aunt Leslye and Uncle Dennis sent us a set of Corningware Bake Ware. My cousin Mary Ellen sent two Mikasa water goblets. I'm glad that Matt looks like he's having fun. Cooking stuff is not really his thang. But I'm excited!

My Bridal Shower is on this Saturday. My grandma arrived today. We went shopping and to Yogurt Walki. Should be another busy day tomorrow!

We found our Rehearsal Dinner Place

Were going to use Cafe Aspen in Fort Worth. HooRAY! Another thing to be done with. There is a huge covered patio in the back with a small water garden in the center of the room. Violet thought it was so cool. The water isn't deep or anything. It just trickles into the ground.

Matt took me to this restaurant on our third (?) date. It's good. I'm just happy I'm done searching for a place!

My Invites

We bought the paper and pockets from cards and pockets. Then Jordan designed the layout with a swirl and lime motif. It was my mom's idea to do the little heart punch-out on the outer envelopes. I love them and I'm so happy they are done! 7 more weeks to go!

I submitted pictures of the invites to cards and pockets for their gallery. They sent me back a nice letter and thanked me for the photos. Maybe Jordan should start an invite website. I think she's got what it takes!

Invite Sneak Peak

That's all you get for now !

52 Days To Go

Time is flyin' ! My to-do list is getting shorter. The invites were sent today! You wouldn't believe what postage cost for 200 invites to be mailed! Insane I tell YOU! My mom and Jordan did a beautiful job on them. They are Gorgeous! Were sending pics of them to the company (cards & pockets) we ordered all the card stock from to add to their customer gallery. So, Jordan designed the invites and also my Save The Date cards. My mom did all the cutting, folding and gluing. I'm so lucky to have such artsy folk in my family!

If you haven't stopped by our wedding site here it is for ya!

The caterers just loved my mom and think she needs to be a wedding planner! Lol, I think she should too.

Paper Parasols

My mom found some purple paper parasols on sale at Hobby Lobby last week. They were only a couple bucks a piece. Won't they make for some fun bridal party portraits?! Love it!

Gotsa Bracelet

I shall be wearing this lovely bracelet to the wedding! This one struck my eye for being so unique but I wasn't sure about it's chunkiness.(It's 2 in. thick) But then I checked Alfred Angelo to see what kind of jewelry the model in my dress was wearing. She's wearing a chunky pearl bracelet with chandelier earrings. Yay! So, now all I gotta find is earrings. I think I'll go to the mall for that. Matt ordered the bracelet today as part of my Mother's Day gift. He's such a good boy ;)

The bracelet was made by Nanda over at Etsy. What do you think of it?

I've been working out consistently for the past few weeks. Ready to look great for my portraits!

I love this Jewelry

I was just searching around on the net. Not really with any purpose. I'm sort of looking for earrings for my bridesmaids and I. The purple pair above would work but they are sold out. All of these pieces were made by Eclectic Eccentricity Jewellery. Yes, I know I spelled jewelry wrong. That's how they spell it!

All of their stuff is so adorable and unique. I think my friend Mandy would like the "Sew much to do Sewing Necklace". Here's the link!

Happy Browsing!

ps. The prices are great too! For example the C'est La Vie necklace is 14.50.
