Every little thing's gonna be alright

I have good news! Matt got offered 2 jobs on monday morning. OH my gosh! So, he now has a full time and permanent position with Palm. I've been on Cloud 9 since monday. It's too exciting. That means we get to have our own home, health insurance and think about baby #2!

Things were looking really rough last week and then we got the best news this week. 2009 has definitely been a roller coaster for me.

December 08- Matt got laid off.

Christmas Eve 08- engaged.

March 09- Matt's dad passed away.

April 09- we had to move in with my parents.

July 09- get married.

then depressed for a few months. Now we can move on and establish our marriage. So happy!

Summary of my frustrations

Our life has sort of been a big blur since Matt got laid off in December 2008. We had to move in with my parents April 1st. I remember packing all our belongings to go to storage thinking we would surely be unpacking it all again come summer to get our first house. So, I only put aside a few toys for Violet and only summer clothes to take to my parent's house. Now that fall is coming up that reminds me of the adorable Halloween boutique dress for V that I got for 6 bucks at Dillards last year. Guess Matt has to go dig that out...if he can get to it. We have a 2 bedroom apartment's worth of furniture packed into an average sized storage room.

1. It's been 9 months since Matt got laid off.

2. The three of us have been living in my parent's dining room for 6 months.

3. out of suitcases! Can you imagine 3 exploded suitcases for 6 months? (See? We did not plan on staying like this for this LONG)

4. My 2 sisters (18 and 24) come and go at late hours of the night. (which means noise right next to my "bedroom" and midnight snacks being made)

5. I'm craving my own home so bad.

6. Violet ends up using the whole house as her playroom. I miss having her bedroom where I could just chunk her left out toys in there and HIDE them!

7. I feel so bad for Matt. I can tell this all bothers him but he just holds it in. He still has his temp/part time job to pay for a few of our bills.

8. This one specific company has contacted him for 3 different jobs with them which have all required him to record a video presentation and still not hired him! They just get his hopes up. But three different positions with the same recruiter calling him?! Frustrating.

9. I don't feel like a grown up living here.

10. My 2 year old thinks every night is a slumber party.

I really could cry. Where is the light at the end of this tunnel? Can you tell I'm frustrated?!

What I Hope For

Matt and I on our wedding night. Our 2 year old Violet was one of our flower girls.

1. To have a life filled with happiness even during the rough times when at first glance it seems like there is nothing to be happy for.

One of my favorite sayings is "Stop crying. You won't see your blessings through your tears."

2. For Matt to find a full time job that can support our family again. He was laid off from Sirius the week after he proposed to me. That was December 08.

He currently has a part time temp job that pays for our car payments & a few other necessities thank the Lord. He has a couple interviews coming up real soon. I pray that God will bless him with the right job soon. We are lucky that our family takes good care of us in the meantime.

3. To own a house and a yard where Violet can blow bubbles and play on a swing.

4. For Violet to know Jesus loves her very much.

5. To have another baby or two or three. :)

6. To embrace aging and be more kind to myself.

Small Updates

(My sweet little baby last year on her first Halloween)

1. Violet and I traveled to Frisco yesterday to visit Miss Mandy and Baby Brandon. Kristen and Gage came as well. We had a good time enjoying pizza, cheesecake, and a walk to the playground!


2. I'm watching my neighbors one year old baby now. Today is the first day. It's going well and Violet and her are napping right now, yay! I will be keeping her at my house for 2-4 days a week. It's a good way to make some pennies!


3. Matt has been way too hyper/peppy/happy. JK. What has gotten into him? Anybody know?! LOL. He took the day off today and has been so eager to help me with the babies. And NO, I'm not complaining!


4. I have been having a late night snack almost every day! Not good and it's always a carb! It's becoming a bad habit. Gotta work on that.


5. It's Kristens Birthday today! Hip Hip Hooray!
