Bedtime Babble

We had an interesting bedtime tonight. I usually lay down with her and she falls asleep after tossing around a few times.

Violet- Lays on her back and sings the word "water" about 20 times.

Me- "Be still and go night night."

Violet- "no night night" then she says "shampoo" and pours pretend shampoo in her hand and starts scrubbing her hair and then says "hair" over and over.

Then she gets quiet for a few minutes.

Violet- "poop".

Me-"did you go potty?"

Violet- "change it, change it."

I turn on the light to find her in a perfectly clean diaper. Then I close my eyes and pretend to sleep and hope she will copy me. Then she leans over me face and I can feel her little baby breath above me. She grabs my cheeks and says "Mommy, why you sleepy, why?" I tell her I'm tired. Then she says, "why tired?" Then I patted her back and she went to sleep.

Oh, my goodness! It seems like she learned how to say full sentences overnight. The perks of being a mother. :)

Boutonnieres and Baskets

This is what my mom has been up to. She still has 7 boutonnieres to go. I think they are adorable. After we saw homemade boutonnieres over at Emily K Botanic Studio on Etsy selling for at least 10 bucks for one we knew we could make them. Now we just have to buy real flowers for the girls, centerpieces and my bouquet.

Mom also decorated the flower girl baskets with a mini version of the boutonnieres. Geesh! How many times am I gonna have to spell that huge word out?! From now on they shall be called bouts!

We found our Rehearsal Dinner Place

Were going to use Cafe Aspen in Fort Worth. HooRAY! Another thing to be done with. There is a huge covered patio in the back with a small water garden in the center of the room. Violet thought it was so cool. The water isn't deep or anything. It just trickles into the ground.

Matt took me to this restaurant on our third (?) date. It's good. I'm just happy I'm done searching for a place!

My Invites

We bought the paper and pockets from cards and pockets. Then Jordan designed the layout with a swirl and lime motif. It was my mom's idea to do the little heart punch-out on the outer envelopes. I love them and I'm so happy they are done! 7 more weeks to go!

I submitted pictures of the invites to cards and pockets for their gallery. They sent me back a nice letter and thanked me for the photos. Maybe Jordan should start an invite website. I think she's got what it takes!

Invite Sneak Peak

That's all you get for now !

52 Days To Go

Time is flyin' ! My to-do list is getting shorter. The invites were sent today! You wouldn't believe what postage cost for 200 invites to be mailed! Insane I tell YOU! My mom and Jordan did a beautiful job on them. They are Gorgeous! Were sending pics of them to the company (cards & pockets) we ordered all the card stock from to add to their customer gallery. So, Jordan designed the invites and also my Save The Date cards. My mom did all the cutting, folding and gluing. I'm so lucky to have such artsy folk in my family!

Yogurt Walki

Yogurt Walki is sooo good! I went there twice last week. I would have gone tonight but I thought too late when they were already closed. It's a frozen yogurt place in Arlington and it's way delicious.

You go in grab a cup, choose from about 10 different flavors ranging from original (my fave), taro-coconut flavor (delicious swirled with original), cookies in cream, chocolate, strawberry, ect...Then you fill your cup to the brim if you want and top it with all kinds of candy or fruit. The original topped with blackberries, strawberries and toasted coconut is my favorite! Then the check-out person weighs your cup and you pay. It's fun!

check out this blog for more info and directions to get there.

Matt's aunt used to cater weddings. She has offered to bring us a chocolate fountain. Yummy chocolate! My mom and I tried all the dinner food yesterday. The chicken was so moist and nicely seasoned. The caterers just loved my mom and think she needs to be a wedding planner! Lol, I think she should too.

Paper Parasols

My mom found some purple paper parasols on sale at Hobby Lobby last week. They were only a couple bucks a piece. Won't they make for some fun bridal party portraits?! Love it!

She's BOSSY!

Yep, that's her! The innocent sleeping beauty right there.

Ah, yes. Here's her with one of her "bossy" faces on. She may be only 2 months shy of 2 years old but she can yell with the best of'em! Violet enjoys bossing around small animals and children of all sizes.

One of her favorite things to yell is "HUSH"! And sometimes the naughtier version, "HUSH UP"! She mainly says that to dogs but recently started yelling at birds as well. We were playing on the front porch and she yelled "NO KIDS!" to kids playing across the street. They of course didn't hear her or even notice that we were outside. LOL.

The big kids at the park better watch out! She is not letting them get away with anything. Step in front of her on the stairs or try to take her turn on the slide- NO WAY! She gives them a very serious "NO". Kids are so funny. Jordan and I overheard some 5 or 6 year olds say to each other "Let's hurry up and get in front of that baby!" Haha! They better watch out for Violet.

I guess it's all part of being a two year old. Violet is still nice and sweet the majority of the time. This bossy phase is kinda funny for now. Let's just hope it doesn't last!
