Funny Girl

I need to start doing more Violet Updates. She's starting to be such a little character!

*She snuck open the fridge and got out 3 of her favorite things (milk, juice, and ketchup) and put them in her shopping cart.

*Sometimes when I'm changing her diaper I say in a silly voice, "booty booty." She has started responding with, "I like dat booty." It is so funny!

*My parents have a huge collection of birdhouses. Violet likes to knock on them and call the birds to come out. Well, I took her into the family bathroom at Cheesecake Factory a few days ago. She went to the "ladies dispenser thing" and knocked on it and said, "come out birds" then she waited a second before she asked, "watchin' elmo birds?"

*While we were walking around Target she tripped and fell. Then she did it two more times on purpose and made a scene about it saying, "oh, no what happen? I fall down."

*She likes to put her cold little feet onto my face when I'm getting her to sleep and say, "stinky feet."


I think my soon to be 2 year old is gonna be a little smarty pants!! ;)

Disclaimer- Yes, I disinfected her hands after the bathroom incident. Luckily, Cheesecake Factory is very clean.

Wedding Stuff

New Blog

I started another blog back in April. It's more of a visual journal of all my favorite things. I'm still working on it. It's called Blue Eyes on Violet. I love coming across beautiful things online. Don't you?

My Go-To Dip

My mom has been making this dip forever. I'm sure lots of you have tried this before. You take a little cream cheese and a little salsa and blend to your liking.

It's so good! We always have a jar of Picante sauce in the fridge and if you keep a tub of whipped cream cheese on stock it's even quicker to make. We had a bag of tortilla chips and I can't eat them without dip. I really wanted to make fresh salsa and had all the ingredients but the jalapenos!

So, I made this easy dip! Give it a try sometime. I'm sure it would be a great veggie dip as well. Make it look pretty with some diced tomato and cilantro leaves.

Bridesmaid Earrings

My mom, Violet, and I drove to Sam Moon yesterday. The enormous and famous trendy-costume jewelery place. They now have a location in Fort Worth. But we think it would have been quicker to go to the one in Dallas and skip all the yucky 820 traffic. We started our drive home around 2pm and it took double the estimated mapquest time!

I just found out from their website that you can buy stuff online and save yourself a trip! Of course there is gonna be more to choose from at the store. I couldn't find the earrings I chose on the website. For all you budget savvy brides the earrings were 4.50 a pair. They came in plenty of colors.

Jaley's Other Birthday Cake

Happy 18th Birthday Jaley!

We did a big celebration for her last saturday. Check out the other cake she had over at Jordan's blog. It was awesome! Then we did the small family thing with her Tuesday night.

I'm really into cooking with low-fat plain yogurt lately. I used Pioneer Woman's recipe and turned her loaf cake into 5 mini bundt cakes. They cooked for only 25 min. instead of 45. I had huge expectations for this cake being that PW included "to die for" in the title. You will love it if you like citrus-spongey like cakes. I expected it to taste more like lemon pound cake.

This was the second cake from Pioneer Woman that I have tried. I made her Chocolate Sheet cake last year and the frosting was delicious! But the cake had a very strong egg after taste. Gross, huh? I think I'm done trying her cake recipes. Now Paula Deen?! Her chocolate sheet cake is perfect in every way! I'll have to blog about it someday.

Overall, Mini Bundt Cakes are just way too cute to pass up!

Bridal Makeup Ideas

My favorite look is a toss up between Kate Hudson at the top and Christina at the bottom. I was on a mission to find a close up of Kate from Bride Wars. I love her cat-eye smokey eyes with a nude lip. I'm going to do a trial run tomorrow since my Bridal Portraits are on Sunday! I already have all the colors just gotta get some lashes.

The Bridal Shower was last weekend. Good Food. Good Friends. Good Time. Matt and I got some really cool stuff. Can't wait to get a house!!

Wedding Gifts via Mail

We got mail! Fun stuff. They came from relatives in Houston. My Aunt Leslye and Uncle Dennis sent us a set of Corningware Bake Ware. My cousin Mary Ellen sent two Mikasa water goblets. I'm glad that Matt looks like he's having fun. Cooking stuff is not really his thang. But I'm excited!

My Bridal Shower is on this Saturday. My grandma arrived today. We went shopping and to Yogurt Walki. Should be another busy day tomorrow!

June 4- Grandma comes to town from San Antonio.

June 6- My Bridal Shower

June 7-Bridesmaid Dress Fitting and get my wedding dress bustled.

June 8- My youngest sister Jaley graduates from high school.

June 13- Jaley's Graduation/Birthday Party!

June 14- My Bridal Portraits at the Arboretum.

June 16- Jaley turns 18.

June 21- Father's Day.

July Fourth!

July 7- Violet turns 2 ! Not sure when to do her birthday yet. We might take her to Hawaiian Falls.

July 9- Wedding Rehearsal and Dinner.

July 10- WEDDING!!!!

July 19- Matt and Mine's Birthday.

July is a huge birthday month for us! My mom, grandma, Violet, matt, jaley's boyfriend jeb and I all have July birthdays!
