I've decided to go out on a limb and put together a professional makeup kit. It's been a while since I've been out and doing makeup on others. Missing it now!
There will be all kinds of brands in my kit. From ELF to Revlon to Tarte. ....Right now I'm trying to figure out foundation. I would like to have at least 4 shades to start with. I think flawless skin is very important to complete a look. I feel like Make Up Forever in HD would be a great choice but it's on the pricey side. I want a nice feeling foundation with decent coverage.
You might say well, what do you use on yourself? I've always used whatever new bottle I get my hands on. I don't have problematic skin so it's never really mattered what I put on. Once my blush & bronzer is on I think I look okay. So, if you have skin issues your answers will help me. What foundation do you like?

Thats awesome!
I have oily skin with regular breakouts and use MAC's Prolongwear foundation. It gives my skin a fairly flawless look and because it is long wearing (according to MAC 16 hours, according to me about 8) its good for oily skin. I also sometimes use makeup forever HD over it which gives in even more coverage. I love the finish of the HD foundation. I know that with the HD powder there is some problems with photos. As it is meant for television, it can sometimes show up as big white patches when using flash photography. I would check into that with the foundation.
At some point, you might want to check into the Bobbi Brown foundation palettes. I know they are super expensive but they have every colour imaginable and can be used as foundation (with a lighter hand) or used as a concealer (with a heavier hand). Finally, there are some companies out there that make student kits for makeup artistry courses. They are fairly inexpensive and come in a variety of colours. You could probably just google that.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck with everything.

Alicia, thanks for the response. I will check those out! So far the kits I'm finding have just some stuff I want and a lot of junk I don't want. I'm hoping it will be cheaper to put it together myself.
well i love studio fix fluid ,, cuz it hides flaws like magic ,, but i know allot of ppl get breakouts from it ,, i dont ,,
but also allot ppl recommended the revlon color stay ,, =) similar in coverage but doesnt break out skins
Feef- I was already leaning towards the ColorStay, the price can't be beat! I don't want to spend a crazy amount of money right now.
