Body Ramblings

FIT. Healthy! Toned. STRONG. Energetic Mama!
That's what I want to be.
I have quite a challenge ahead of me but I will do it. I had to work out consistently and eat well to lose the weight after Violet. (I gained 55 with her and 50 this time!) My little boy is 7 weeks old today. I started working out last week. My goal for now is to do at least 3 days of simple cardio like a workout dvd and lift my 8 lb. dumbbells. It's going to be hard for me to lower my calories. Since my baby is exclusively breastfed I will have to eat around 2000 calories a day but I'm not going to let that discourage me. I've got 4 workouts behind me and many more to go!

(This was me 10 months after having my first baby. Summer '08. I felt very happy and healthy at this size. Would love to get back to this or smaller.)

I'm a few weeks from my due date and when all is said and done, will probably have gained around 50 pounds myself! I'm trying to stay positive, I know I can work off the weight. I won't give up until I do! Plus, in contrast to how I feel now, I'll feel sexier than ever. :)

I find that cardio is my saving grace. Even as little as 20 minutes a day is all it takes to re-shape my entire body. Maybe it's not that way for all but it's worth a try. Drinking water religiously helps tons too. I also plan on breastfeeding so I plan on eating lots of high protein, low fat meals. Things that will produce energy, milk, and keep me feeling full! Protein Shakes are nice in a pinch, and homemade bean dips (like hummus) and veggies, lentils, etc really help! My biggest problem is my monstrous sweet tooth so I just need to tame that down, and I'll be golden!

Keep up that will power of yours and you'll be on your way to feeling fabulous in that bathing suit in no time! Cheers to 2011 being the year of the strong, fit, CONFIDENT, mommies. =D
