Princess Violet

Little Miss decided to be Cinderella this year. Well, she also wanted to be Snow White and Jessie the Cowgirl. It's so hard to make a decision when your 3!

Hope you all have a safe Halloween Trick or Treating or going to Fall Fest.

Here's a link to our recent Halloween post. This is Violet's 4th year to dress up!

Face of the Day and 34 Weeks Update

FOTD- This is how I did my makeup for my Baby Shower. (I'll share pics soon) I used MAC Shell to highlight my brow bone, cheeks and Cupid's bow. I used a brown, ivory and bronze from my FLIRT eyeshadow palette. Then ELF liquid liner. I contoured my cheeks with MAC Sincere, blush is MAC Tenderling and I layered Cargo Sunset Beach bronzer on top of my cheekbones. I'm liking the Cargo bronzer on top of almost all my blushes lately. Then I dabbed on Wicked Ways lipglass on my lips. I debated doing false lashes but my laziness won over!

34 Weeks Pregnant

1. I'm significantly bigger than I was 8 months ago.
2. At 32 weeks, I had a sonogram done and my baby weighed in at 4 pounds, 7 ounces. So, he's gotta be around 5 now and I'm feeling it!
3. It's very hard to get up from the floor or get out of bed or my car.
4. I love feeling my baby boy move. Even when he gets the hiccups.
5. My 3 year old tells people that her baby is growing into a giant that will break our house down! I must look gigantic to her.

My Husband's Favorite, Fish Tacos!

I love this man! Thought I'd share some of my favorite pictures of Matt.

Matt and Violet, Mission Beach CA 2008. We tried Rubio's here for the first time. So good and these tacos remind me of our vacation to San Diego.

Holding our first baby, Violet. 7.7.07

Moving onto the Fish Tacos! Any time we go out to eat Matt is checking the menu to make sure they serve Fish Tacos. I agree they are pretty yummy.

Fish Tacos-
Fried Fish
(Were gonna cheat and use frozen beer battered fish instead of making a batter and frying raw fish. Not as good but very quick!)
Tortillas
Shredded Cabbage
Fresh Cilantro
Lime wedges to serve with the tacos

For the Sauce-
.5 cup plain yogurt
.5 cup mayo
juice of 1 lime
1 jalapeno, minced
.5 tsp oregano
.5 tsp cumin
.5 tsp dried dill weed
1 tsp cayenne pepper

Start by baking your fish according to the box directions. In a small bowl, mix together all the sauce ingredients and let chill in the fridge until the fish is ready. Warm up your tortillas. Then put your fish tacos together! So good. We always eat these with Cilantro-Lime rice.

You can always make them more healthy by using plain, baked fish and corn tortillas. Just make sure you make the sauce! That's my favorite part.

33 Weeks

33 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Sleep is getting rather difficult. I have not been able to sleep on my belly since August and that is my favorite position. I got away with that for so long because I would wedge a pillow under one of my hips to give my belly more room. Now I sleep with 2 pillows behind my head and a pregnancy pillow between my legs. This position is okay and really my only option. Since you can't sleep on your back while pregnant. Then I go potty almost every hour! Fun stuff. I keep telling myself "not much longer."

Now THIS pillow is interesting! I found this image while trying to find a picture of my pregnancy pillow. It's called a (click here to see the commercial) Kush and it's to keep your boobs from sagging into each other during your sleep. Wow, there really is a product for everything!

I've been sleeping a lot and getting prepared for our baby on the way. I'm sorry that I've been such a blog slacker! Please forgive me. :)

Chocolate Strawberry Whopper Cookies

We love cookies and chocolate covered strawberries! These cookies get their strawberry flavor from Strawberry Milkshake Whoppers and Strawberry Cake Mix.

Have you ever made cookies with cake mix before? The first time I tried them I had used yellow cake mix and added sprinkles. The yellow cake mix still tasted like I used...well, cake mix. I've since tried versions using Chocolate and Strawberry cake mix and the result is much tastier.

Here's my spin on cake mix cookies, Chocolate Strawberry Whopper Cookies-

1 box Strawberry cake mix
1 stick softened butter
2 T. canola oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup roughly chopped strawberry Whoppers
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Mix together cake mix, butter, oil and eggs. Then gently stir in Whoppers and chocolate chips. Scoop onto baking sheet and bake for 9 min. Let them cool completely for best taste.

You'd be surprised by how quick these cookies come together! And less to clean up too. The whoppers give a nice crunch to these cookies. So many options to try.

Girls day at the Fair

On Friday, My mom, sister Jaley, Violet and I went to the fair! We had a lot of fun. I think I might be a little crazy to spend 7 hours walking around at the fair at 8 months pregnant. I'm now hobbling around with a blister on my toe. But the Fried Snickers bar made it all worth while! Ok, I'm kidding. I'm trying to do as much fun stuff with my 3 year old as I can before this little one arrives!

Ok, Picture Time!
Posing with Big Tex.

We all tried way too many fried treats! At least we always shared. This is a fried Snickers.

Sister Jaley in front of the Ferris Wheel.

Violet went fishing!

Lots of cute animals to see and pet.

Fresh Ice Cold Lemonade is the best!

Crazy ride that we did NOT do.

Violet found this lion to pose with, little cutie.

On the Merry Go Round with Gigi.

So tired! We had to give away the rest of her game tickets on our way out. She was not waking up for anything.

That was fun but it will be a few years before we go back. Walking and eating in the heat is hard work!

One Year Later

(hubby and I a few months ago)

Around this time last year. We were going through a rough patch. You can read the blog I wrote about it here. I was really down and not feeling like my self. Life is so different now!

I'm so thankful for...

1. My husband. He always puts his family first. Because of him I can stay home and raise my babies like I always wanted to.

2. That I'm pregnant with our second baby.

3. For our home. Having your own home really is a blessing!

Really, I'm just trying to sit back and appreciate the simple things in life.

Maybe it's the hormones. But I felt like I should reflect on how my life has changed since this time last year. I was feeling sorry for myself, gaining weight and had lost some of my spark. I'm sure some of you reading this are going through hard times as well. The recession has been hard on so many families. I hope there are still little things you can find happiness in. Things will work out!

MAC Disney VILLIANS

These 2 beauties just arrived in the mail today! I got Wicked Ways and Devlishly Stylish from the Cruella collection. Before trying them on I primed my lips then lightly lined the edges with a natural lip liner by ELF. My makeup is the same in both pics. The blush color is Tenderling by MAC. I love that shade! It's a soft nude and balances out red lips very well.

Wicked Ways- I would say it's almost ruby red. I had tried this on right before running errands. I decided to blot it down before I left since it's kinda bright for day time.

Devlishly Stylish- Looks more pink in the package than I expected it to be. But goes on light and peachy.

What do I think? I love both of them! I have lots of red lipsticks but Wicked Ways is my first red gloss. I like that it goes on bright red just like the package and not sheer like some red lip glosses tend to do. And Devlishly Stylish is a flattering nude that I'm sure I will wear a lot. Have you tried these shades yet?

Random Fact- I'm 31 weeks pregnant! Getting closer. I have my last ultrasound scheduled for next week, can't wait.
