Fried Chicken for the Cure

KFC has joined the fight against breast cancer. They will give fifty cents for every pink bucket of chicken sold to Susan G. Komen for the cure.

Why is this bad?

In the words of Mike Adams from naturalnews.com...

"This idea that buying fried chicken is actually going to cure cancer is one of the most utterly idiotic health ideas yet witnessed in American pop culture. Komen for the Cure is so far gone from reality that the organization apparently doesn't even think twice about suggesting such an absurd idea. Eat more fried chicken, folks, and then what? Loading up on that kind of a diet is more likely to cause you to kick the bucket than to find a cure for cancer."

My family will not be running to get a bucket. There are several other options of safe and healthy ways to raise awareness and money for cancer!

Third Birthday Ideas

Violet has decided on a Ni Hao Kailan themed birthday. Here are some images I've compiled so far. Chinese lanterns, chinese candied fruit, fortune cookies, pretend peanut butter sushi sandwiches! Still brainstorming. I do have till July to figure it all out. I want it to be extra special since last summer we kinda gave her a last minute party since it was 3 days before our wedding. I think like my mom. We like to make up a theme and then make most of the food and decor to go with it ourselves.

7 weeks

My baby may only be the size of a blueberry but is certainly a little miracle. Elbows are forming and fingers are developing. This baby is so small but already has teeth growing under the gums, amazing! (picture from i-am-pregnant.com)

My sisters and I nicknamed my first baby Murphy Furt during pregnancy. We thought that was hilarious. We just tried to think of a nerdy/funny name to use until we found out if she was a boy or girl. I just asked my almost 3 year old what we should call this baby and she said Supper. Huh?! So, I explained that we needed a name and she said How about Gage or Brandon? Those are the names of her friends. hmmmm, I think we will give her more time to think of a silly name.

Playday at the Park and Pea Salad

Yesterday we had a nice day with family. Lunch was Cici's with my mom, V and Jus. Then we went to get a kite at the Dollar General but they only had ribbon batons. But Violet was totally happy with that.

Random- Pea Salad recipe I made over the weekend. Isn't it colorful? Decorated with mint from my back porch.I grew up not liking peas at all. My mom makes a recipe similar to this. So good with bacon and cheese in it!

14 pounds lost, 25 to Gain

Were expecting our second child in early December! So happy. We have been hoping to time them 3 years apart and they will be 3 1/2. Thank You Lord!
